Shirt Folding Trick

Monday, February 7th, 2005

Let me just say as a disclaimer that I don’t normally fold laundry. In fact having clean clothes in one pile and dirty clothes in another (bonus points for separating whites and colors) is usually about as good as it gets barring intermittent bouts of cleanliness. This trick, however, caught my eye and I had to try it (if only once) and it really works! Take a look at the video in Japanese, it’s really funny!

Office Claymore

Friday, February 4th, 2005

I wasn’t sure whether to take this seriously or not. I mean the idea of making a claymore mine out of office supplies appeals to the geek in me but what if it is dangerous? I particularly liked the trip wire made out of tape. Macgyver anybody?

The Amazing Race vs Boundaries

Friday, February 4th, 2005

Recently I’ve been re-reading Boundaries Before Marriage in order to get it all through my head again. At the same time I’ve been watching The Amazing Race warning spoilers!and you’d be surprised how the two things complement each other. The Amazing race pits couples, or friends in teams of two, against each other in some exotic locations. Along the way there is heaps of pressure and inevitably someone in the couple will make a mistake. I look upon all of this as a sort of case study in working out conflict when relating as a couple.

I already think I can see some couples whose relationship will not survive the series and some that I’m dubious about. I think my least favorite is Jonathon who is so disrespectful of Victoria that it is a clear case of chapter 15 in boundaries. Then Adam’s girlfriend threatens to leave him and his reaction is to threaten to throw himself on the railway tracks. After that he changes briefly and she lets him get away with it. GET A GRIP GIRL AND SET SOME BOUNDARIES! Man this show has so many relational case studies.
