New Track: Proclamation

Sunday, October 30th, 2005

I’ve just posted a new track that I have been working on and I finally came up with a title: Proclamation. The people I have played it to have liked it so I hope you do too. You can get it here. Let me know what you think in the comments below.

ITunes Australia!

Tuesday, October 25th, 2005

Yep it’s here! I just signed up and even bought a couple of songs. I was specifically looking to see what Christian artists were there. No Hillsong that I can see but I did see Jennifer Knapp, Audio Adrenaline and Petra all under the “Inspirational” category. I was also looking at DJ Tiesto’s Just Be Remixed album. I can forsee a dip in my bank balance :) Thanks to Neil Atwood for the heads up.

I found this interesting little tool that puts what I’m listening to currently in iTunes on the bottom of my blog entries when I’m using w.bloggar. Now you all get to see my eclectic music collection in action :) .

What a Weekend !

Monday, March 15th, 2004

It’s finally done, after an exhausting 11 hours at church over 2 sessions we have finally recorded our Paradise live album. Thanks to BMG Guy Sebastian was able to be on a few of the tracks, at least in a limited way: we are limited to 10,000 copies. I ordered 4 :) . The choir was awesome, there were 150 of us and we were still going strong at the end, even after they sprung an extra set of 4 songs on us to make sure we had the recordings we needed. Tina, Cherrie and especially Duncan did an amazing job of getting us there by looking after and leading us.
Some highlights:

  • On Sunday morning Princess C offered to put some product in my hair to make it look fantastic for the DVD. I sat down and after a couple of minutes of pulling at my hair C says S help! and calls Queen S over to lend a hand. I then had both of them working on me at once (and you can bet I was enjoying the attention ;-) ) before Queen S finished off and then got me back after a few minutes to finish off with hairspray. Princess CB did the honours for the evening session. Thanks girls, I really appreciate the help, I got lots of complements.
  • The choir was really jumping (literally). During the praise set of the 7pm service (our 3rd of the day) I was finding it hard to stay in contact with the choir stand like I was supposed to. It was a moment of being completely sold out to God and giving it all for Him like I’ve never experienced before.
  • Princess CB lost her voice (and let me tell you that is a major handicap ;-) ouch, I thought I’d get that in now because she will hit me when I next see her :) ) and then had to do an interview for the DVD “making of” special which was very funny but also a great expression of how much effort went into the performance.
  • Oh Man, Lucien, what a guitarist!

I’m completely exhausted but proud to be a part of something which I pray will touch so many lives.

Paradise School of Music Starts

Monday, March 1st, 2004

I just got back from the inaugural night of the Paradise School of Music and I am definitely excited. A lot of the staff put on a couple of numbers to get things rolling and they were awesome. Let me just say that the mix was the best I’ve ever heard in the youth hall, kudos to whoever was doing sound. We then had some speeches from Pastor Ashley, Steve Donato and Richard Fowler and then they split us up for our courses.

As there were only 4 of us who were doing workshops there we went and had an hour with Richard Fowler Richard Fowler, Awesome !. Having Richard explain to all of us how he saw music theory, song writing and worship leading going in such a small group was fantastic. It’s not often you get to sit with someone with this level of experience. All in all a good night and I would reccommend PSOM to anyone interested in knowing more about music.

The Album Preparation Commences

Thursday, February 19th, 2004

We had our first rehearsal for our church live album recording tonight. Duncan wrote some awesome choir arrangements for some of the songs. I must say that he is a great musician and a good teacher. Now all we have to do is remember all of those awesome arrangements. Some sheet music would help but since Duncan only finished them this morning I guess we will need to wait a while.

Andy Hunter

Tuesday, November 18th, 2003

Been listening to some of the music by Andy Hunter, sounds sort of cool. I think I might buy his CD Exodus (or put it on my Christmas list hint hint).

To Live is Christ

Monday, January 20th, 2003

I have this song going through my head today (To Live is Christ by Kate Spence) and it just won’t go away. Not a bad song, worth a look if you don’t sing it in your church.
